Kids In Pics 52/7
It seems like we've been through every possible infection of this winter season and even during half term, instead of having fun we've been curing...But it seems it is getting better this time:) Or at least, this is what I hope for!
Today, as there's Saturday I should have two pictures but Little Girl, due to sickness refused being captured, so there is only Little Boy's picture! He is already 5 months (well, tomorrow)! Can't belive how quickly time passes!!!

Kids In Pics 52/5 & 52/6
Weeks pass too quickly. I don't even know where I've lost two past weeks. We were ill so long, that I can't even remember when was the last time I had at least 5 minuts for myself. And now it seems that Little Boy started teething. I am affraid that it will take a while for the first tooth to come out so I guess I have to put aside all things I've planned. But as we decided to give the old camera to Little Girl we have a lot of fun taking pictures.

The Foggy Foggy Forest
I used to think that I haven't got any addictions. Well, apart from chocolate. But I do have. Far more than chocolate...
One of them are kids books. I love the stories and design but most of all I love books with the concept. And when those there jest in a book I am in heaven:) As my own books went on upper shelves (and for further plans) with the begining of 'kids era' I mostly read children books. That's why I am terribly fussy in case of books ;) And as we read in two languages we have quite nice collection which is still getting bigger.
I know - the stores are full of great books, but here you'll find my very subjective selection :) The first book is not very popular in the world, it is not a kind of cult book it doesn't even have illustrations that would make me stepping on my tounge. What actually amazes me in this book is CONCEPT!
The whole idea is in paper! It is transparent! And that means a lot of fun with light and shadows. And what is hiding in a Foggy Foggy Forest?
Each page gives you a question and each one the answer which is rhyming...
So there are 3 bears, an Elf, Cindirella and Snow White, an Ogre and even Little Red Riding Hood and her Gran. But if you want to know what are they doing in the Foggy Foggy Forest you'd better rush to the book store or library ;)

Window veggies
There are some things in life which make me stop for a while and think. Our life has slowed down a bit in past few weeks. There was a time for tears, grief and memories but also for fear and hope. It is said that hope dies last. There is something in it. Our hearts still hope even if our minds have lost it. But no matter what has happener, our life goes on and we have to keep up with it...
We've got another winter this winter. It is snowing again. Little Girl is under the weather again and so am I, to be honest. The winter came in time I was thinking of starting my first garden leaving me with my plan for a bit longer. But... Instead of a proper garden we've started one on a kitchen's window. A great fun for Little Girl who can observe and learn how plants grow!
I took some vegetable scraps and put them into the dishes filled with water. Such an easy thing :) they are going to be Little Girl's first crop as we're going to plant them as soon as the place in the garden is ready.
Onion
Garlic
Leeks
Parsnip
Carrot - still looks the same...
To be honest, I did not belive that we will grow anything that way, but as you see it is growing:) And Little Girl is having so much fun when looking at her veggies ;) If you wondering how long did it take to grow vegetables to that stage - a week only.
I will have to post a small update later in the week as now all of the veggies are bigger. Apart from carrots...

Kids In Pics 52/4
I don't really know when that week turned into the weekend. Maybe it's all because our dearest friends visited us, maybe because we're ill again... But I've managed to finish Little Boy's dribble bibs. Finally!!! There are still some projects that are awaiting finishing, so hopefully I will get better over next few days and find more time to finish them, take some photos and post the on a blog. Meanwhile, we've got another Saturday, and that means another Kids In Pics!

Kids In Pics 52/2 and 52/3
This year didn' t start as we would all wish to. It is already a hard year and there is nothing we can do about it. I had so many plans which now have to wait... All our thoughts are turned to husband's father now. We all hope for the best...
When I look at these two the only thing does matter. To keep them safe. And even though I know it isn't possible to avoid everything, this is a big concern...
I couldn't write last week, I just wasn't able to think about anything else. So many things had happend...Little Girl had turned up 3 last week. There wasn't a big party, her dad could't be with us as he had to support his parents. But I've managed to prepare someting for our guests. I can't sometimes belive how quickly they grow... It was like yesterday when I hold her, so tiny, so delicate... And now she's taking my lipstick when I can't see her and argue with me all the time... Strong character...
All the best Sweety!
Because last Saturday I've missed Kids In Pics, today I publish pictures from last Saturday and today's pictures.

Vegetable Spaghetti Pasta
Going on gluten free diet meant giving up most of my favourite dishes. Including Italian. I know there are plenty of gluten free pastas on the market, but mostly their ingredients are not good. I don't really like the idea of xantan gum. However, I do sometimes use ready gluten free mix when baking. Never mind as it is not about flour but about pasta without flour...
I was seriously concerned about Little Girls eating as she was (and still is) a pasta lover. My sister advised me to make a courgette pasta and that was it! For the first time it was rather tagiatelle as I used vegetable peeler. But then we decided to get a vegetable spiralizer. I've done my researches and chosen the best one for us. Since then I can eat our favourite spaghetti which maybe is far from Italian one, but for us - even better:)
Usually I use courgette to make my spaghetti pasta and carrot to make a broth noodles. But the spiralizer is perfect for making chips. And if you have a dehydrator you can go raw :D Perfect for apple, parsnip or beetroot chips!
So, the recipe is very simple. You only need a spiralizer and courgette. After spiralizing your courgette you have some options. You can boil it, you can steam it or you can leave it raw. It's entirely up to you. I boil mine in a tiny amount of water for just couple of minutes until it's warm and tender. Then serve it with a sauce. If you eat dairy you can use Italian style cheese. As we are dairy free we don't use it (well, hubby does). What you will see in pictures is actually almond meal.
It was definatelly worth buying it! I got my spiralizer from here. I love kitchen gadgets, but this one is particularly good!
